Waverly Hills is an Arlington, Virginia neighborhood and historic district located just about a mile from the Ballston Metro, in between I-66 and Lee Highway. Situated almost in the geographic center of Arlington, Waverly Hills borders Cherrydale, Donaldson Run, Old Dominion, Glebewood, Waycroft and Ballston. Starting at the southern end of the neighborhood at the intersection of I-66 and N Utah Street, the neighborhood continues west along I-66 to N Glebe Road, north up Glebe Road, east along Lee Highway, then south along N Taylor Street, west along Lee Highway, then south along N Utah Street until the road meets back up with I-66.

Waverly Hills homes for sale vary in style and architectural type, with a mix of townhomes, single-family homes and a few condo buildings. Things to Do Around Waverly Hills
For outside entertainment, most residents head south straight to Ballston, an area of Arlington that has long been known as one of the popular urban villages of the area. Although to some Ballston is known as a nightlife destination with spots like A-Town, World of Beer and Greene Turtle, there are also some great restaurants that can double for a night out. Rustico is a popular destination for both drinks and/or dinner, with an extensive craft beer menu and great meals. The Lee Heights Shops are also close to the neighborhood. This shopping center has a nice variety of local shops and national chains, including Starbucks, Chipotle, Arrowine Wine and Cheese Shop and more.
For activities closer to home, look no further than to the Waverly Hills Civic Association. This active association has been put in place to preserve the neighborhood and make it even more enjoyable. Besides keeping residents informed and ensuring the overall welfare of the community’s residents is maintained, the WHCA also promotes citizen participation and fosters the friendly environment. Various events are put on throughout the year so neighbors can get to know each other in a fun setting. For example, in the springtime the community gets together for an Easter Egg Hunt at Woodstock Park. Besides formal events, neighbors often get together on a regular basis for dinner or parties. It’s common for residents to stay in the community for many years and some homes have been passed along the family for multiple generations.
Enjoying the Great Outdoors in Waverly Hills
Woodstock Park is the first recreation that comes to mind to most Waverly Hills residents. This 1-acre park is located in the northern end of the neighborhood and has picnic tables, a gazebo, playground and a basketball court. Arlington is a great area in general for biking, jogging, and recreation, especially since there are so many parks and trails around the Northern Virginia city.
Traveling Around Waverly Hills
Most Waverly Hills residents use their vehicles as their main mode of transportation in and around Arlington. The western border of the neighborhood, N Glebe Road leads to nearby main roads, including Washington Boulevard, Fairfax Drive, Wilson Boulevard, Route 50, I-66 and Lee Highway. This provides the community effortless accessibility to all of Arlington’s restaurants, shopping, and entertainment. Besides getting in and around the immediate area, residents are able to get into Washington, DC and out west towards Tysons Corner, Reston, and other Northern VA towns via major highways like I-66, GW Parkway and I-395.
